About us

Not Yet Famous... was born in 2019 to create sustainable apparel at a fair price.

We have a commitment to the planet and to a new way of looking at the fashion industry, which includes the use of organic and/or recyclable materials, as well as the creation of timeless pieces. The brand does not have collections precisely to avoid participating in the hectic calendar of the fashion industry, whose environmental impact is devastating.

Every piece is made to last and never goes out of fashion.

A proud parter of

ONE TREE PLANTED

A nonprofit that plants trees to restore nature and biodiversity. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment. For every product sold Not Yet Famous...will contribute to global reforestation.

Apparel

All our t-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps are made of 100% organic cotton, from a certified supplier and Textile Exchange Active Member, The Cotton Group. Sweatshirts and caps are also made of 100% organic cotton from Ecocert-certified supplier Kariban.

Each time you buy an organic cotton piece instead of a conventional cotton one, you are reducing water consumption by 91% (around 397 liters of water). Organic Cotton is also grown within a rotation system that builds soil fertility, protects biodiversity, and is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, toxic pesticides, or GMOs.

Furthermore, our price tags are made from recycled paper and hung with jute yarn (No PLASTIC!).

Sunglasses

Our sunglasses are designed in Lisbon, with classic and timeless shapes in mind, so that you don’t have to buy a new pair every season. Three of our models are made of metal, which is fully recyclable, but most are made from acetate.

Acetate is not plastic. It’s a semi-synthetic material whose base material is mostly wood pulp and natural cotton fibers, that is processed in an industrial facility using a cocktail of acids to form a melted goo that is molded into glass frames. It’s not 100% eco-friendly, but it’s still sustainable as it lasts in perfect shape, color, and brightness for decades and decades. So if you buy acetate sunglasses with a classic shape, you are buying a piece that will last a lifetime.

Every frame is built with hand-guided cutting and then hand-polished to finish until they’re just perfect.

All sunglasses come with a felt case with a faux  leather strap (once again, no plastic).

Although we are trying to shift production to Europe, our sunglasses are currently made in China by an ISO9001 certified factory.

Quality lenses

Living in Lisbon, a city that has more than 12 hours of sun, reflecting on our amazing Portuguese white pavement, we know how important it is to have high-quality lenses. That’s why all of our sunglasses have polarized lenses and 100% UVA and UVB protection, for optimum visual comfort and superior eye protection.

Polarized lenses use horizontally aligned polarizing micro crystals that help reduce glare. Glare is caused when light from the sun is reflected off of water, snow, glass, and pavements. Polarized lenses make colors and images more vibrant by neutralizing glare, and your overall visual experience improves.

The normal sun lenses only decrease the light intensity. But Polarized lenses give you that extra something that can really make the difference.
